The home of more than 850 species of birds indicates that Nepal is certainly a top bird watching destination among bird lovers and enthusiasts. We would like to assure you that you will have the exquisite bird watching experience in Nepal at reasonable cost. Get your binoculars ready for the ultimate birdy experience. Our main bird watching points are Puhlchowki Hill near Kathmandu at altitude of 2700 meters, UNESCO world heritage site Chitwan National Park and Koshi Taapu Wildlife Reserve situated just about at the sea level.

During your stay in cultural Kathmandu city, we will take a short drive to almost top of the Phulchowki Hill. Descending downwards, the beauty of mighty Himalayas will set as background along with beautiful winged birds in framing the perfect picture that we capture through our own naked eyes. The commonly seen species of birds varies from rosefinches, flycatchers, minivets, flower pickers, and wood peckers to unusual cutia, Nepal parrot bill and laughing thrush. It has been said that almost 50 species of bird’s species are recorded in Kathmandu Valley alone. So, it’s the ideal place to begin our bird watching expedition.

To reach our next bird watching destination we will drive towards Chitwan National Park around 150 kilometers south from Kathmandu valley. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site. It covers an area of 932 km and is located in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of southern Nepal. Over 500 species of birds was recorded here in 2006 and during our stay we can assume to view at least one third of those. We will be exploring birds through elephant ride, jeep and by foot depending upon the specific area. Because of varied habitation and residency of birds during different seasons, chitwan is regarded as premium bird watching destination all year around.

Koshi Taapu Wild Life Reserve (6 hours drive from Chitwan National Park), the protected area covering 175 km located at eastern Nepal is our final bird watching destination. In this region, more than 480 bird’s species were recorded and commonly seen species are black headed cuckoo, eagle owl, water cock, Bengal floricans, Nepal rufous vented prinia and whitetailed stonechat etc. We will be sightseeing the birds on foot or on air-pressured boats where suitable.

You will be delighted by the variety of birds that you will spot in this ultimate bird watching tour operated by Eco Trip Nepal and we are sure it will be the most amazing bird watching trip that you will ever experience.
