Among the 14 national parks and wildlife reserves in the Kingdom, the Royal Chitwan Nationals Park (932 Sq Km) is the most popular safari destination.A world Natural Site declared by UNESCO,is one of the most visited Parks.More than 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros roaming in her sprawling grass and wetlands.Other most famous species in this park is some 100 nocturnal Royal Bengle tigers hunting their preys in this dense jungle.The diverse ecology of the Park is home to around 600 plant species,50 mammals,526 birds and 49 amphibians and reptiles.Some of the flora and fauna are endangered.The best part is that it is close to Kathmandu and easily accessible (only 165 Km overland) and Bharatpur airport adjoining the park is 25 minute flight away (there are daily flights from Kathmandu). Many adventures also choose to go down by raft. In whatever way you go, a jungle safari is an experience you will remember for a long time.
Activities to Do:
Jungle Drive:
You can have the unique experience of driving deep into the jungle in a 4 wheel drive jeep. (January to May only).
Jungle walk:
You can enjoy a natural walk in the jungle in safety accompanied by our well-trained naturalist who will interpret the hidden secrets of the land as you walk through ancient groves or perch in a strategically located watch tower (Machan) to observe animals grazing,drinking at polls or resting in the bushes.
Canoeing:
A typical hand-made dugout canoe will take you for a ride on the great Rapti river where you can see Gharials and crocodiles basking in the sun and enjoy watching the many colorful birds.
Bird watching:
Birds lover will have a wonderful opportunity to see many species of birds in the early morning as the new day dawns.
Tharu village visit:
This tour is especially for those guests who are keen to experience the typical local life of Tharus,the ancient native people of the Chitwan jungle.
Folk dance:
After a delicious buffet dinner we entertain you with stick dance and folk song and give you an opportunity to dance with the native people.
Ox-card ride:
For those who love old ethnic traditional way of transport,we have an ox-cart that will give you an experience of the unique mode of transport while riding on the old dirt road of near by Tharu village.
