Makalu Barun National Park is the Conservation Area in the heart of eastern Nepal. Makalu trekking is a nice trekking route for a trekkers who wishes to trek in long days Himalayan Adventure. The park covers altogether 2330 sq. km. among the several mountains which 830 are in Nepal.This trek follows the Barun Valley. The altitude climbs from the Arun Valley at only 435 meters above sea level to Makalu at 8463m,just 40 km.away from the valley.It's diversity it is a fantastic venue for more adventurous nature lovers.More than 3000 species of flowering plants have been recorded.The wildlife includes the endangered red panda,musk deer,Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard and possibly the snow leopard as well.Over 400 species of birds also thrive here. The best time to schedule Makalu trekking is between October-November or March-April when the passes are less likely to be covered in snow.
