Mount Dhaulagiri expedition (8167m)

Dhaulagiri expedition is one of the most popular expeditions in Nepal. It lies south of the Tibet/Nepal border. Over 8000 meters peaks for climbing in Nepal and its offer a wonderful trek of Around Dhaulagiri, Dhaulagiri pass trekking, Dhaulagiri circuit in Annapurna region. Dhaulagiri gets its name from the Sanskrit word “Dhavala” means white and “giri” means mountain. It was first climbed by K. Diemberger, P. Diener, M. Dorji, E. Forrer, A. Schelbert and N. Dorji. Normally four high camps are established for Dhaulagiri climbing. Camp I will be set up at 5900 meters on the Col. Camp II will be fixed at 6400 meters. Camp III will be 7200 meters and Camp IV will be 7500 meters. The climbing of this section is considered the most challenging in the expedition. Today there are more than six different routes established with variations, and the possibility of more.

Mt. Dhaulagiri Expedition Itinerary Normal Route

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1350 meters, Eco Trip Nepal representative will transfer to hotel, Mt. Dhaulagiri expedition briefing with officially arrangements, Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu for officially procedures and necessary arrangements.

Day 03: Kathmandu for officially procedures and necessary arrangements.

Day 04: Drive to Bagling, trek to Beni, arrange for porters.

Day 05: Tatopani (1189m). Overnight in lodge.

Day 06: Ghasa (2012m). Overnight in lodge.

Day 07: Tukuche (2591m). Overnight in lodge.

Day 08: Marpha (2667m). Change porters.

Day 09: Yak Kharka.

Day 10: French Col.

Day 11: Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

Day 12-49: Climbing period for Mt. Dhaulagiri.

Day 50: Clean up base camp.

Day 51: Dhampus Col.

Day 52: Marpha. Overnight in lodge.

Day 53: Jomsom. Overnight in lodge.

Day 54: Fly Jomsom / Pokhara / Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 55: After breakfast, relaxing/shopping with own activities, evening farewell Dinner.

Day 56: Eco Trip Nepal representative will drop to international airport for onward destination.
